Back & Obese

haha...

I am laughing at my own title for this blog. All I wanted to put was back, but I think adding obese is appropriate mainly because I am currently reading this article on obesity and I hear mentions of it on the radio talk show today. Also, I gained weight from my trip.

Trip was awesome. Japan and HK have yummy yummy food. ^_^
And the subway system there is really advanced. Well, its like the tube in London, England. Only I don't know which one is bigger. One thing for sure is that the Japanese one is more complicated. Maybe it doesn't help because I don't read Japanese.
And everyone speaks Japanese. I know, "Hello, its Japan"
Best thing about Japan: love the Ramen. love it. love it.
I am normally picky about eating pigs fat, well, fatty pork. But I had this ramen with this pork piece that had a huge chunk of fat in it. I was going to take it in my mouth and pull the fat out, but the fat melted in my mouth and it was soooo sooo yummy. And I am SO getting obese. haha

Japan follows crazy fashion. All designer clothes, well, most. I think Tokyo is the topmost fashionable city I visited, in terms of the girls dressed up and how many designer stores there are. Makes me feel like a pauper looking at all the items on display.

All in all, Japan and HK are very populated. There are tons of people running around in all direction and the places, ie. rooms are small.

Oh, HK food is yummy, especially the dessert. I love chinese dessert. I think I could live off of them and get uber fat. The sai mai lo, with tropical fruits, the sesame dessert..... (in dessert land now)

It was easier to do shopping in HK because it was much much much cheaper than shopping in Japan and it was cheaper than in US too. Went over to China for a day as well. Didn't like the experience quite as much. People there were more rough, more tricky and seems like they were out to get me. More shady and seedy, so it didn't feel too safe for me as a girl.

Ok, I am going to stop talking about my trip. I should have the pictures out soon. Email me or ask me for pictures if you want to take a peek at them.

Obesity: Read
this article.
It talks about how people are blaming vending machines for rising obesity in kids.
This morning, there was a radio show blaming marketing fast food/bad snacks to children as one of the main causes for obesity in kids. While I agree that it is bad that there are so many unhealthy food out there and advertisers are targeting the easiest market, it is also the parents responsibility to make sure you educate and discipline the children to eat and exercise as needed. I don't think parents can just point fingers at the companies, when the parents and schools have more control and make better impressions on children's minds.

All of you know about the earthquake and the tsunami by now. Its pretty sad and disastrous. The only positive thing I see is how everyone is coming together, to help, putting their differences aside. It shows the human side of us. :)
The diseases that might spread concerns me though. I am more worried about the people survived and had terrible hardships to go through (selling children for labour/sex, taking advantage of children who've lost their parents) and the diseases.

Alright, I'll leave it on that note. Its been a long blog. :)

Hi Blogger, Out surfing for information on gastric bypass & happened upon your site. While Back & Obese wasn't exactly spot on, it did strike a note with me. Thank you for the really good read.
